Week 8
Please respond in 3-4 sentences about what you got out of class today... whether it is about the advertising techniques of the energy drinks (amp, redbull, rockstar, monster), how energy drinks effected you if you tested them, or how the survey you created will be helpful to our studies.
i like the monster ad, cause it gives more info about the product and variety of flavors and exotic names. The rockstar site was all over the place like a messy cake, dont even kno wat were searchin about , da site confuses me, cause it's messy, and i dont like how the nutrients info was just a small link. Same w/ redbull, dat site was boring n lame, good 4 old ppl, cause theyr boring too. We should convert all our info n data as our next step.
In class today, we researched the different advertisements of a variety of energy drinks. We found out that the amp energy drink was the best one for our period. Their website was promoting to a younger age group and that seemed more interesting to the Period 2 class. The energy drinks included amp, redbull, rockstar, monster and these energy drinks were all different in fonts and colors in their websites. We have concluded that these websites give you the main ideas from their content, but not the specifics of how it is bad for you, similar to the smokinng lables.
I like the webiste amp, becauseamp was the most well full weboage that. It had music, advertsiment, really colorfull page, but evan if there web pages are well organize they cant chnage the fact thet engery drinks are bad for youl. It creatses health problems not worth your health.
i was one of the ones in the energy drink experement.
the drink was much like apple cider in taste, but when i drank it, my heart beat sped up a bit, my eyes widened and i felt so awake. after taking a couple laps around the building, i fet the drink really kick in. i felt like i could do anything in the world, i felt really amped up, i felt like someone else.
after 10-20 minutes, my heart beat really died down, even lower then my resting heart beat! by 2nd period, my eyes felt heavy and i started to yawn, but strangly enough, i still felt so awake(?!) after that the day got pretty normal. so in conclusion, my drink had a good jumpstart for no more than 2 hours, it had a peculiar type of crash, and then everything settled. my drink was rockstar.
Class was crazy! I drank a energy drink, Rockstar, and when I ran outside, I was running kinda crazy and bumping into people while I was running. Everyone was running crazy. After the run, my heart rate raised a lot. In second period I felt kinda nervous but I didn't know why. Then, in nutrient break I drank a little bit more of a different energy drink my friend had and when Ii went to 3rd period I was kinda hyper and laughing a lot. The rest of the day I felt weak, tired, sleepy and couldn't think at all.
The class was awesome. Drinking all the Red bull made me feel dizzy at first. It was fun seeing my classmates all hyper especially when we did two laps around the the class. when I went to my second period my head starting to hurt. But then it stop and I notices that all day I was awake but I couldn't seem to pay attention in class, I got easily distracted. But it was fun trying out the energy drinks. I think the websites of the energy drinks are more intended to capture athletes interest as well as young adults. I had a lot of fun and I hope we have a chance of doing it again!!!! :D
Friday in class i learned the different ways that energy drinks are promoted in advertising, specific examples i learned from are the amp, monster and redbull advertisers. From what i observed they all had something in common they all advertised to athletes, the most appealing to my eye was the amp's website, because it had music and it targeted athletes specifically. This will help our research by informing us how and who is it that energy drinks target as consumers.
I learned that energy drinks are very concerned about their advertisement.
They have very cool pages.
Although they do tell us what is in them...
they explain it in a way that makes all those chemicals look like they are good for you.
I think that the amp website was really cool because they had cool sound and one drink that caught my attention was the blue amp drink because it says it makes you more focused. I think their advertisement was good too because they showed how many sodium, sugar, etc. they had. Also i think that the survey that we are going to make will help us alot by helping us identify alot more about how much people drink or consume energy drinks.
