As a part of the upcoming release of SciVee Postercasts, SciVee attended the Experimental Biology Conference 2008 (EB08) that took place in San Diego on April 5- 9. SciVee had a booth near the poster presentation area in the exhibitors hall and SciVee team members went around collecting poster presentations on video. The poster presenters were given a complementary SciVee t-shirt for participating and they were entered into a contest to compete against other presenters to win $500.00 for creating the best SciVee Postercast.
Since that time, all the videos were uploaded privately and added to a new community on SciVee called Experimental Biology Conference 2008 Poster Session Videos. The presenters were then sent email requests to create an account to preview their SciVee Postercasts privately. They were also directed to send their poster file in an attachment email so that it could be connected to their video. Many of the recorded presenters have sent in their username and poster file. Several others have already synchronized their SciVee Postercast. The contest is set to be judged on the 16th, but in order for the presenters to be considered in the contest, they must use the synchronization tool to complete their SciVee Postercast. The synchronization tool is used to zoom and focus on parts of the poster as the video plays setting specific sections of the poster to appear as the viewer later watches the video.
The Postercast feature is set to go public sometime after the contest judging when testing is complete. Keep your eyes peeled for updates. It will probably be very popular for anyone that has a poster or slide presentation they would like to couple with video.
